May 1st is designated as "Safer Roads Day" in West Yorkshire.
Since it was introduced in 2005, Safer Roads Day has confounded the statistics and achieved fatalities-free days on local roads and drastic reductions in the number of people injured.
This has been achieved through the support, commitment and efforts of local people to keep them safe when they're out on the roads ... and also those around them.
Safer Roads Day is supported by the emergency services, police, local authorities and district road safety teams.
But the biggest contribution comes from LOCAL PEOPLE, helping to make the roads and the communities alongside them safer and better places to be.
On Safer Roads Day May 1st ... and every day ... please take special care of yourself and each other on the roads.
